Community Meeting on Development of the U.S. Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Arctic Research Plan: FY2022-2026

Contact: Meredith LaValley (meredith@iarpccollaborations.org)

Join us to learn about and discuss the future of federally funded U.S. Arctic research. Every five years, the U.S. Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) produces a five-year Arctic Research Plan outlining federal priorities and opportunities for collaboration among agencies and non-federal partners. The plan is produced under the Arctic Research and Policy Act and in consultation with the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, the governor of the State of Alaska, the residents of the Arctic, Indigenous organizations, the private sector, and public interest groups. Recently, IARPC released a draft of the 2022-2026 Arctic Research Plan for public comment and is seeking input from those who live and work in the Arctic, including the international community. During this session, IARPC representatives will describe the plan development process and give an overview of the policy drivers, priority areas, and foundational activities in the current draft before opening the session for questions and comments from meeting participants. More information on the development of the draft plan and where to submit written comments is available at: iarpccollaborations.org/arctic-research-plan-2022-2026.html .
