Cooperation across national and disciplinary boundaries has long been characteristic of the European polar research community, conducive of its global leadership in research in the Arctic and the Antarctic.
In celebration of the EPB's 25th Anniversary and continued collaboration with IASC and SCAR, this session will showcase world-leading, bi-polar European research and the impactful policy it has helped to shape.
By fostering collaboration and connection between Arctic and Antarctic researchers, across borders and disciplines, Europe has further cemented its leadership in international research at both poles, building on a long history. This session will explore some of the large-scale, leading research made possible by the international and interdisciplinary research environment nurtured in Europe.
[A special issue / publication will be produced from this session as a commemoration of the EPB's 25th Anniversary.]
